The Pinyon: evolution of beetle-kill pine tabletops
The previous photo shows the raw material we started with: a stack of rough-cut beetle kill pine 2x4s. I know, it’s not much to look at, but I thought it would be interesting to show the evolution of these tabletops as they evolve from this rough stack into 20 beautiful butcher block-style tops.
The photo here was taken after the boards had been cut to rough lengths, ripped and squared. We let them air dry in the racks to ensure that all excess moisture was removed before cutting final dimensions.
