Once the rough cuts were dried to the desired moisture content, everything was run through the S4S machine, planing 4 sides at once for a perfect square. This photo shows the milled butcher blocks being glued and clamped in the Taylor. The Taylor allows us to be super-efficient; we can glue, clamp, and rotate the spindle to the next rack and keep going. After all the tabletops are glued up, we run them through the belt sander for a final 1 1/2” thickness.

Next step: finish sanding..
